Course Goal

The purpose of this course is to provide tactical operators with a solid foundation of high-risk entry TTPs and high-risk vehicle interdictions [TAC201].


Course Description

This course is designed for the new tactical operator or tactical operators who are wishing to continue to develop their skills. This course will introduce the tactical operator to initiative-based tactics and problem solving.  This course is challenging and will provide the operator the base-line required for advanced tactical operations.


This is a 3-Day (TAC201 is 4-day) Course which includes the following specific topics:

  • Carbine and Pistol Range Work;

  • Scouting and Pre-Mission Preparations;

  • Planning Considerations (R2P2);

  • Breaching (Mechanical, Ballistic, Exothermic and Energetics);

    • Note: Energetics may be utilized dependent on the location and whether attendees have an energetics program – this will be notated on course schedule

  • Types of CQB Tactics (Tactical Theory and Applications);

  • Vehicle Interdictions (VI)*** – [TAC201]

  • After Action Reviews and Implementing Lessons Learned;


Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate proficiency with Carbine and Pistol;

  • Comprehend the critical elements of the planning processes;

  • Demonstrate proficiency with scouting and pre-mission preparations;

  • Understand and apply the basic fundamentals of breaching operations;

  • Identify and apply the basic fundamentals of CQB TTPs;

  • Demonstrate proficiency with the basic fundamentals of a VI** [TAC201]


Learning Approach

The course of instruction is designed for instructor and student collaboration.  This course is fast paced and the instructors will challenge the students.  Due to the complexity and dynamic nature of these operations, the instructors will continue to emphasize and reinforce fundamentals through repetition.  We strongly believe in providing an environment for the operators to work through and solve problems. 



Active Law Enforcement, Military or Contractors, credentials will be verified prior to entry into course.

Credentials will be verified.


Equipment and Gear Requirements

  • Primary Weapon (AR or SMG) and 6 magazines

  • Secondary Weapon (Pistol) and 4 magazines

  • 1000 rds AR/SMG ammunition

  • 500 rds pistol ammunition

  • 100 rds of UTM marking ammunition for carbine

  • Operational Kit Loadout with armor plates and pouches

  • Eye and Ear Protection

  • Mechanical Breaching Tools

  • Breaching Shotgun (if agency does not have one contact IRONCLAD as we can provide one);

  • Agency issued Gas Mask
